Build Your Own Custom GPT - No Code Required

On November 6, 2023, OpenAI announced a quantum leap in how businesses, educators, and innovators can harness AI. All Plus and Enterprises have or are getting the ability to craft their own GPT models without any computer coding at all.

Previously, a custom GPT required coding, using other tools or apps, hiring designers, an automation agency, or a coder. With this latest update, virtually anyone using simple everyday language can build their own custom GPT models.

In addition, just as Apple and Google have their own "App Stores,ā€ OpenAI is launching a GPT Store where chatbot creators can publish and monetize their own GPTs, and users can buy pre-built custom GPTs for their businesses.

Here are just a few examples of custom GPT model chatbots:

  1. Customer Service and Sales Agent: Provide real-time, accurate responses to customer inquiries, process returns, and even upsell products based on the customer's purchase history. This model is trained using product documentation, manuals, descriptions, inventory, ship dates, customer FAQs, company support documentation, and past customer service interactions. This can answer 80% of all inquiries 24/7, giving personalized customer service and sales assistance by text or voice. The other 20% of questions it cannot handle are automatically routed to human customer service and sales agents.

  2. Bookkeeping Assistant: This is trained with financial terminology and the business's complete economic and transaction history. This custom GPT summarizes and analyzes financial reports, makes actionable recommendations, and provides insights on spending trends and budget forecasts. It also categorizes and autonomously enters raw data and transactions for the business, eliminating the need for costly and error-prone human data entry.

  3. Marketing Content Creator: Assists in generating a wide range of marketing content. Fully trained on past successful campaigns and the business's unique brand voice. It produces posts for social media, email newsletters, and blog content, saving your marketing team time while maintaining a consistent brand tone.

  4. Legal Assistant: Law firms use their own custom GPT model based on vast amounts of legal texts, case law, and internal documentation. It assists lawyers by providing preliminary research, drafting legal documents, and suggesting case precedents.

Autonomous Agents

OpenAI launched a new Assistants API to let developers build their own ā€œagent-like experiences.ā€ Developers can make agents that retrieve outside knowledge or call programming functions for a specific action.  Some examples of how a construction company can use this capability:

  1. Project Management Assistant: An AI that keeps track of project timelines, sends reminders for deadlines and updates stakeholders on progress.

  2. Safety Compliance Checker: A bot that helps ensure safety protocols are followed by providing guidelines and checklists for workers.

  3. Supply Chain Coordinator: An AI that monitors inventory levels of materials, predicts when orders should be placed and communicates with suppliers for restocking.

  4. Bid Preparation Helper: An assistant who gathers necessary documents and helps prepare bids for new projects.

  5. Maintenance Scheduler: An agent that schedules regular maintenance for machinery and sends alerts for upcoming service needs.

  6. Workforce Allocator: An AI tool that manages project staffing, matching worker skills and certifications with project requirements.

  7. Training Assistant: A bot that guides employees through required training modules and tracks completion for compliance purposes.

  8. Equipment Rental Coordinator: An AI that manages the rental schedule for equipment, optimizing usage and reducing idle time.

  9. Client Relationship Manager: A virtual agent that provides clients with updates, answers their questions, and collects feedback post-project completion.

  10. On-Site Incident Reporter: A bot that workers can report safety incidents to, then logs them and notifies the necessary management personnel.

This is a game changer for every construction company that can do a better job faster and at a fraction of the cost. Businesses that embrace AI-powered Assistants will grow quickly, make more money, and have the competitive edge to succeed.
