ChatGPT Team: Privacy, Collaboration, Memory

OpenAI has introduced ChatGPT Team, a new subscription plan specifically tailored for groups from 2 up to 149 members. It provides a collaborative workspace integrated with OpenAI's latest AI models, including GPT-4, GPT-4 with Vision, and DALL-E 3.

ChatGPT Team features include:

  • Enhanced privacy - your data will NOT be used for training

  • Higher message limits

  • Document analysis

  • Coding assistance

  • Writing enhancement

  • Data visualization

  • Technical support

  • Text extraction from images and PDFs

  • Visual content creation

  • Web browsing for research purposes

ChatGPT Team is offered at $30 per user per month or at a reduced rate of $25 per user when billed annually versus $20 per month for ChatGPT Plus. Presumably, ChatGPT Enterprise is a better choice for larger organizations with 150 or more users.

ChatGPT Team emphasizes privacy and security, ensuring that business data and conversations are not used for training models. It has improved the "memory" of previous interactions (chats) and allows teams to build and share custom GPTs.

Rabbit R1: The Future of AI Assistants?

The Rabbit R1 is a unique AI assistant launched by Rabbit Inc. that offers a fresh approach to digital assistance. Priced at $199, this device stands out for its combination of innovative features and affordability.

What to expect:

  • Design: The Rabbit R1, co-designed with Teenage Engineering, features a distinctive orange look and includes a camera, control wheel, touchscreen, speaker, microphones, and a floating rabbit head interface.

  • Functionality: It operates on Rabbit OS, enabling interaction through a natural language (i.e., English) interface and far-field microphone technology. The device can perform various tasks such as booking rides, flights, and hotels, suggesting recipes based on fridge contents, and answering trivia questions.

  • Large Action Model (LAM): This technology allows the Rabbit R1 to interact with user interfaces of various apps, enabling it to carry out a wide range of tasks.

  • Privacy-Focused Design: The camera design is privacy-focused, retracting into the device when not in use.

Comparisons:

  • Speed and Efficiency: Rabbit R1 is touted to respond faster than traditional AI assistants like ChatGPT, Siri, and Alexa.

  • Simplicity and Focus: It aims to provide a minimal, less distracting alternative to smartphones and other AI assistants, focusing on simplicity and efficiency in task execution.

  • Capability Expansion: The Rabbit R1's foundational model learns user intentions and behaviors, mimicking them for quick and reliable action execution.

Cons:

  • Limited App Compatibility: Initially, Rabbit R1 will support only the most popular applications, though future updates may expand its capabilities.

  • Battery Life: While advertised as having "all-day" battery life, the specifics of this claim are not clearly defined.

The Rabbit R1 presents a promising alternative in the AI assistant market, especially for those seeking a more straightforward, more focused digital companion. Its features and competitive pricing make it a notable contender against established assistants like Siri and Alexa. It is a glimpse of the future of what AI Assistants can and will be doing for us.

ChatGPT Store Launch

OpenAI's ChatGPT Store has already rolled out to most Plus, Team, and Enterprise Members. It's located conveniently in the top left as "Explore GPTs."

This is a unique marketplace where users can access custom versions of ChatGPT tailored for specific purposes. This innovative platform is expected to empower users and developers by facilitating the creation, sharing, and possibly monetizing of specialized AI tools.

Developers can share specialized AI robots with the potential (as yet unspecified) of being able to monetize them. Compliance with OpenAI's guidelines and policies is a prerequisite for GPT robots featured in the store.

The store promises to enhance the usability and functionality of ChatGPT, making it a more versatile tool for a wide range of applications.

Google AI for Retail

In January 2024, Google Cloud launched a suite of new generative AI products for retailers to enhance online shopping experiences and optimize back-office operations.

The Conversational Commerce Solution is a key feature, enabling retailers to integrate AI-powered virtual agents into their websites and apps. These agents can engage customers in natural language, offering tailored product suggestions based on individual preferences.

Another advancement is the introduction of a new Large Language Model (LLM) specifically tailored (no pun intended) for retail. This feature enhances digital storefronts with Google-quality search and recommendation capabilities, personalized to each retailer's product catalog and customer search patterns.

Google Cloud's Customer Service Modernization solution integrates with existing CRM systems, deploying AI agents for tasks like product recommendations and order inquiries. It also includes language translation to enhance customer service experiences.

The Catalog and Content Enrichment tool automates product cataloging, leveraging AI and powerful LLMs to generate product descriptions, meta-data, and SEO-friendly content from images and text.

Finally, Google Distributed Cloud Edge for Retail offers a hardware and software solution for AI-powered tools in retail locations, even in low or no internet connectivity areas, facilitating modern customer experiences and in-store analytics.

This suite of products represents Google Cloud's initiative to embed generative AI in retail, aiming to revolutionize commerce and customer service with advanced AI technologies.

Walmart Embraces AI

Walmart is making significant strides in integrating AI technology into its stores and online platforms. The Goal: To revolutionize the retail experience for both customers and employees.

At the Consumer Electronics Show, Walmart showcased a new GenAI-powered search experience for iOS users. This enhanced search capability allows customers to find products based on specific use cases, like organizing a football watch party, by generating relevant, cross-category results. This feature is part of Walmart's ongoing efforts to create personalized, seamless, and flexible shopping experiences.

Walmart also introduced "InHome Replenishment," leveraging AI and the company's expertise to keep customers' online shopping carts filled with the right items at the right time, delivered directly to their homes. Additionally, a beta social commerce platform, "Shop with Friends," is set to elevate AR shopping by enabling customers to share virtual outfits with friends and receive feedback on their fashion choices.

Sam's Club, a Walmart division, is implementing AI in its checkout process. The technology includes cameras at store exits that confirm purchases in shoppers' carts, enhancing the checkout experience and reducing wait times.

Moreover, Walmart is expanding drone delivery services, making shopping more convenient and efficient. The AI technology used in Walmart and Sam's Club streamlines inventory management and employee tasks, ensuring that stores operate more effectively while improving and elevating the customer experience.
